minecart station for the new map
So for the last few days i have been thinking. assuming we are not going to have warps in the new map (except /home MAYBE). I have been wanting to build a railroad of sorts connecting all (or almost all) the towns to a central hub. As of now, i have nothing built in minecraft for concept of what it will look like, but in my mind i can think it would be a huge smooth-stone tower with each departure/arrival area marked with a specific wool color. I have been trying to use the minecart mania mod, but I noticed I don't have permission to use any of the signs. I have tried making [hold for x] and [Launch] signs but it says I don't have permission. Why is this?

I have built minecarts that have a chest, a forge, and an empty one.
Is there a way to get these to link like a train?
Also, how do the powered minecarts work? I have had no success in getting it to do anything.
