Best weapon against Lagiacrus' head?

Okay so I'm trying to get some Lagiacrus horns for my armor. I'm having some trouble hitting the head with the longsword I'm using right now so it's really annoying x_x. Anyone have any tips on what the easiest weapon I should use to hit its head?
