Before the main character was even embraced, the Professor was mailed a package with the key to the Ankaran sarcophagus.
Who do you think mailed it?
Jack? He's certainly in on everything. We "know" he came in on the ship carrying the sarcophagus.
Caine? "Wherever we go, it is the blood of Caine that makes our fates" - He could "command" the sir
