Given a choice, would you REALLY want to be a vampire?

Over in blacktrench's thread, all of the talk about getting bitten (i.e. being Embraced), even as a joke, makes me wonder about people's lives. Mine too. Would I actually make the choice to be a vampire? Or would I have the courage to keep living as a human, until I die? I guess it depends on the world, and the rules of 'ze blood' (as in "I vant to drink", blehh, blehh).
